The house of poet Lebedev in Suzdal is recognized as a historical monument. Here, the marine poet Alexey Alekseevich Lebedev was born and lived, who perished during the Great Patriotic War.

Alexey Lebedev was born in Suzdal in 1912 and became interested in poetry from an early age. Serving in the Baltic Fleet, he continued to write poems, and in 1939 his first book "Kronstadt" was published, followed by "Lyric of the Sea" in 1940. With the onset of the war, Lebedev was appointed navigator of the submarine "L-2", which was blown up by a mine during a combat mission in 1941.

The residents of Suzdal hold the memory of their fellow countryman in high regard. One of the streets in the city is named after him, where a monument in his honor is installed. A memorial plaque telling about the outstanding owner is placed on the house where Lebedev lived.
