House No. 7 is a magnificent two-story mansion with a facade adorned with stucco and an inner courtyard.

"House with Caryatids" was built for N.F. Zolotaryova, the wife of merchant Zolotaryov. In 1896, it was purchased by Peter Sysoev, a peasant from the village of Safronovo in the Podolsk district, who became wealthy through his labor. Sysoev was a talented stucco worker and participated in the decoration of the interiors of the famous Filippov bakery and the "Metropol" hotel. Thanks to this, he acquired this elegant two-story mansion, where he set up his stucco workshop. With the help of architect Zubov, he slightly remodeled the house, decorating the facade with caryatids and other decorative elements, which became excellent advertising for his workshop. The facade still features a monogram with the initials "PS", installed by Sysoev.

This house became a filming location for movies such as "The Twelve Chairs" by Leonid Gaidai and "Tomorrow Was War" by Yuri Kara. The cinematic character Ellochka-the-man-eater lived here.

For a long time, Sysoev's house was in disrepair. It suffered particularly from the previous tenant: the stucco partitions were destroyed, the floors between the stories were dismantled, and the stoves were destroyed. On March 27, 2012, the Government of Moscow included the "House with Caryatids" in the register of cultural heritage sites.

This house became one of the first to be rented out for 49 years under the Moscow Government program at a symbolic price of 1 ruble per square meter per year. The restoration lasted about a year and was completed in 2013. Now the "House with Caryatids" is fully restored, and its stucco once again delights the eye. The mansion looks like a small gem in the alley, and it is hard to believe that it was once on the brink of disappearance.

Before the restoration, archival materials were studied and scientific research on the building's structures was conducted. The foundations were strengthened, and wooden structures affected by fungus were replaced with new, fireproof ones. The artistic decoration of the facades was restored.

In 2013, the house became a laureate of the Moscow government competition "Moscow Restoration" for the best project in the field of preservation and popularization of cultural heritage sites in the nomination "For the best organization of repair and restoration work."
