In the 1860s, an impressive two-story building was erected at the corner of Alexandrovskaya and Moskovskaya streets, replacing the old wooden shops. Initially, it was owned by the merchant Matryona Zakharovna Zykova. In the 1890s, the building passed to the well-known Saratov entrepreneur, first guild merchant Pavel Prokofyevich Borisov-Morozov. He updated the facade, adding his initials "PB" to the central cartouche on the side of Moskovskaya street, which have been preserved to this day. However, in the early 20th century, his affairs worsened, and in March 1906, he sold the building to first guild merchant I. Z. Levkovich. The house, located opposite the Upper Market, was used as a rental property. On the first floor, in the corner of the building, there was a tea shop owned by merchant Timofey Dmitrievich Timenkov. The second floor has housed a hotel with furnished rooms called "Birzha" since its construction.

In the early years of Soviet power, the hotel was replaced by a student dormitory of the Health Department and individual apartments. The first floor housed the electrical engineering office "Svet", a beer warehouse, a tobacco shop, a general chemistry laboratory of the Saratov State University, and a tea management store. In the mid-20th century, the second floor was converted into communal apartments, while popular shops opened on the first floor: "Military Book", "Toys", "Children's Goods", "Perfume", and "Hunting and Sports", the last of which still operates today under the name "Ostrovok". Currently, on Gorky Street, there is a shoe salon "Randevu", a hairdresser "Romeo", and a shoe supermarket "CityS" (formerly "Sharm"). On Moskovskaya Street, there are the bank "Narat", a German shoe salon, and a shoe store "4 Seasons".
