The V. K. Kyukhelbekker House Museum, which is a branch of the Kurgan Regional Local History Museum, was opened on December 13, 2005. It is located at the very place where V. K. Kyukhelbekker lived with his family, wife, and two children from September 21, 1845, to March 1846.

The house has been restored and renovated, preserving its original appearance and layout from 1845. The museum's exhibition is dedicated to the life and work of the famous critic, poet, Decembrist, and lyceum friend of A. S. Pushkin. The core of the exhibition is the memorial house where V. K. Kyukhelbekker lived during his exile in Kurgan. This house was purchased for him by his sister, Justina Karlovna Glinka, in the name of his wife. The family lived modestly, and the furnishings of the house were not lavish. Based on documentary and typological materials, as well as authentic items from the descendants' family, the everyday life of Wilhelm Karlovich, his connections with other Decembrists, exiled Poles, and local residents has been recreated.

The house museum is a historical monument of federal significance. Themed tours, lectures, and various events are held here.
