The A. S. Pushkin House Museum is one of the key cultural attractions in Chisinau. In this guest house of merchant Naumov, Alexander Sergeyevich stayed from 1820 to 1823, when the territory of modern Moldova was known as Bessarabia. It was here that Pushkin conceived the poem "The Prisoner of the Caucasus" and wrote the poem "The Black Shawl." The museum was opened in 1948 in one building, and in 1985, several neighboring buildings and a park were added, forming a museum complex.

The house-museum features an extensive collection of household items from the Pushkin era, works of painting, and decorative applied arts. There is also a photo archive and a library with rare books published during the poet's lifetime. During the last restoration, the interior of the house was restored to the maximum extent to the state it was in during Pushkin's stay.

A particularly valuable exhibit is a 19th-century duel pistol, gifted by the Moscow Museum of A. S. Pushkin. Although it is not the very pistol from which Dantes shot the poet, it is very similar. Among the museum's pride is also the famous digest of Pushkin's working notebooks, published under the patronage of the Prince of Wales. Guides provide detailed information about all the exhibits during tours.

In the neighboring building, there is a literary exhibition "This limit is filled with your rumor...", dedicated to the three years of A. S. Pushkin's stay in Bessarabia.
