In 1974, the P.D. Korin House Museum was opened in Palekh, dedicated to the people's artist of the USSR, laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes, and academician of painting. Pavel Korin is known as an outstanding portraitist, creator of the historical triptych "Alexander Nevsky," and author of the poignant images of "Russia Leaving."

All exhibits in the museum are authentic, as are the walls of the house itself, which is the oldest wooden structure in Palekh. The house was built in the late 1860s or early 1870s by the artist's maternal grandmother, Anna Timofeevna Talanova, with funds from her father, merchant of the 3rd guild Timofey Dmitrievich Gunin.

The house is divided into two parts: a peasant hut with a kitchen and a living room, and an urban half, connected by a common corridor. In the warm months, the Korin family lived in the summer part of the house, decorated in a merchant style, with furniture made of valuable wood and works of art.

The museum has a unique collection of icons, iconographic graphics, and Western European engravings, gathered by Pavel Dmitrievich. It features works by his father, brothers, and P.D. Korin himself, such as "Rowan Branch," "Palekh is Being Built," "Landscape with Pines," and others.
