The L.N. Andreev House Museum is the place where the childhood and youth of the Russian writer Leonid Andreev (1871, 1919) took place.

Leonid Andreev lived here until 1891, after which he moved to St. Petersburg upon graduating from the Oryol Gymnasium. In 1895, his mother sold the house and moved to Moscow. The writer often returned to his homeland and visited the house where he spent his childhood and youth. Descriptions of the house and garden can be found in his works and letters.

The house, consisting of ten rooms, was built in 1876 by the writer's father, Nikolai Ivanovich Andreev, who purchased the plot in 1874 and designed the project himself. It is a wooden building with a grand entrance decorated with carvings and four windows on the facade. The interior of the house has changed little, and it has hardly been altered externally. The stone cellar and terrace leading to the garden have been preserved. The house is painted green, as it was during the writer's lifetime.

In 1960, a memorial plaque was installed on the house with the inscription: "In this house, the childhood and youth of the famous Russian writer Leonid Nikolaevich Andreev took place." On August 21, 1991, on the 120th anniversary of Andreev's birth, a museum opened in the house on 2nd Pushkarnaya. The exhibition is dedicated to his childhood and youth. In three exhibition rooms, the interior of the old house has been recreated using typological furniture and personal belongings of the Andreev family. The father's study and the mother's room are highlighted, and a piano from the firm 'Ernst Kapst' from the Oryol house has been preserved. The Andreev House Museum is a branch of the Oryol United State Literary Museum of I.S. Turgenev.
