Since 1982, the memorial house-museum of artist Yefim Mikhailovich Cheptsov has been operating in the village of Medvenka, which is a branch of the Kursk Art Gallery named after A. A. Deineka. The museum's exhibition is based on paintings, furniture, documents, personal belongings, and household items that reflect the image of the artist and his life in the village.

The museum is located in a one-story wooden house, faced with stone, with a total area of 70 sq. m and an exhibition area of 50 sq. m. It is here that E. M. Cheptsov (1874, 1950) was born and worked during the summer.

Yefim Mikhailovich Cheptsov, following the main direction of Soviet art, managed to combine the classical and the modern in his work. His paintings remain a "window to the world," a world that is close and well-known. This may be related to his character. He avoided transformations of space, randomness, and the fragmentary nature of compositions that attracted many of his contemporaries. His creativity is based on traditional, sometimes utopian ideas about transforming the world, but within the framework of a general style, he found his unique place.

The museum recreates the atmosphere of the Cheptsov family home, presents sketches and paintings by E. M. Cheptsov, and hosts changing exhibitions of works by Kursk artists.
