The property belonged to the Moscow merchant of the 1st guild, Fyodor Mikhailovich Musorin, who had been in commerce since 1868 and was an active participant in Moscow's Old Believer community, as well as a guardian of the Rogozhsky Charity House. He acquired this property on July 2, 1867, and in 1884, the main house was built nearby according to the design of architect Maxim Karlovich Geppener, which has survived to this day. In 1903, the church in honor of the Protection of the Mother of God was moved to the third floor of this house, which had been located on the property since 1873 and served as a church for the Zamoskvorechye Old Believer community until 1910.

On March 28, 1902, Fyodor Musorin transferred his property to his granddaughter Maria Mikhailovna Polezhayeva. In the 1920s, the building was densely populated and turned into a communal apartment.
