The house where the honorary citizen of Penza, Maria Kiseleva, lived is located on Krasnaya Street, formerly known as Dvoryanskaya. Maria Mikhailovna bequeathed her property to the seminary, and on this land, the Penza University was later built. A memorial plaque has been installed on the building, symbolizing Kiseleva's return to her home.

Maria Kiseleva was a well-known philanthropist. She built a charitable institution in Penza, where the infectious disease hospital is now located. With her own funds, she supported those in need, financed the education of children from low-income families, and built churches both in the Penza region and in Palestine.

The initiative to create the memorial plaque came from the Penza Metropolis, and it was made by sculptor Valery Kuznetsov. Viktor Shabanov, chairman of the regional branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, spoke about Kuznetsov's work, noting that the plaque, made of natural stone and copper, turned out to be very beautiful and interesting.

Historian Anna Golovina, the author of the first book about Maria Kiseleva, could not attend the ceremony due to illness. It was she who reminded everyone of the philanthropist, whose name was forgotten in Soviet Penza. The first edition of the book was published in 2003, but later new facts were discovered, prompting Golovina to prepare a second book, the publication of which is being handled by the diocese department, as explained by Tatyana Loginova from the Penza Metropolis.

Maria Kiseleva is buried in Penza at the cemetery near the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery. Her grave was destroyed during the demolition of the monastery. On the day of the 125th anniversary of her death, a memorial ceremony took place at the new memorial plaque.
