The family mansion of the merchant family Adamov, located opposite the Livny cinema "Oktyabr," may seem like an ordinary house from the Stalin era at first glance. However, its architecture was significantly ahead of its time. Today, it is a residential building.

The Adamovs belonged to the first guild of merchants, and their lineage traced back to the service people of Livny. The head of the family was Ivan Ivanovich Adamov, who was assisted in his affairs by his sons Fyodor and Nikolai. The last owner of the family mill was Fyodor's son, Mikhail.

Ivan Ivanovich Adamov held the position of burgomaster in the Livny city hall, and his election was supported by the majority of local merchants due to his high authority.

The merchant family lived in the mansion in the center of Livny.

In addition to industrial activities, the Adamovs were engaged in trade, specializing in rare goods brought from other provinces and countries. In Livny, they owned grain warehouses, storages, cellars, shops, and stores. Among their regular clients were representatives of the zemstvo administration. The merchants also owned a horse breeding farm.
