Merchant P.F. Dranishchev's House

Фото 1
The house of merchant Dranishchev is an example of a residential building in the classical style, characteristic of Moscow architecture of the late 18th century. This two-story house is adorned with stucco, and above the three central windows on the second floor, which face Upper Radishchev Street, there are sandriks, architectural elements in the form of shelves. They not only emphasize the horizontal lines of the facade but also serve to divert rainwater from the windows.

On the facade facing Teterinsky Lane, round medallions with rosettes are placed above the windows. These elements are repeated on the second facade, where the medallions are located above the side windows of the second floor.

The house is built on uneven terrain, resulting in varying heights of the first floor on different facades. This effect is smoothed out by the beveled corner of the building, where there is a window on each floor. Above the upper window, there is also a sandrik.
