Kerensky spent the last 20 years of his life occupying the entire top floor of this building. He also taught Russian history and politics at Stanford University in California.
In 1917, the socialist revolutionary Kerensky led a moderate government that was overthrown by Lenin and the Bolsheviks. After fleeing Russia, he settled in Europe, and after World War II, moved to New York, where he died in St. Luke's Hospital in 1970.
