In 1955, the poetess Anna Akhmatova was given a dacha in Komarovo, which she called a "doghouse" due to its small size. This dacha often hosted well-known cultural figures such as Faina Ranevskaya, Dmitry Likhachev, Joseph Brodsky, Bella Akhmadulina, and others. Nearby lived the naturalist writer Vitaly Bianki, and in the 2000s, one of the neighboring buildings was occupied by the writer Boris Strugatsky. Anna Andreyevna lived in Komarovo until 1965. She passed away in 1966 and was buried in the local cemetery, where many famous figures of art have found rest since the 1950s. Here lie musician Sergey Kuryokhin, writer Yuri Rytkheu, film director Viktor Tregubovich, actor Andrey Krasko, and more than two hundred other burials.
