The house of merchant Sergey Mikhailovich Gribushin was built between 1895 and 1897 by Perm architect A. B. Turchievich in the picturesque Art Nouveau style. Initially, the mansion was intended for the family of official Kashperov, but in 1899 it was acquired by the son of millionaire Poklevsky-Kozell. In 1905, the house passed to Sergey Mikhailovich Gribushin, who remodeled it to his liking and lived there until his death in 1915. After his passing, the house was inherited by his widow Anna Nikitichna Gribushina. In 1919, the Gribushin family emigrated abroad.

From March 3, 1919, the building housed a garrison officers' shop, then a military hospital. From 1921, it accommodated the children's department of the city tuberculosis dispensary, and from 1922, a children's hospital opened, which operated until 1988, when the building was transferred to the Perm Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Currently, it houses the Perm Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The house was restored in 1987 and 1995, but due to a lack of funds, the facade was only painted with paint received as charitable aid, which gave the building a toxic blue color by 2008. In 2009, a new facade reconstruction began.

It is believed that this house is described in Boris Pasternak's novel "Doctor Zhivago" as the "house with figures." The Gribushin House stands out with its white and blue tones and Corinthian order with a clear division of the facade by columns. It is one of the most beautiful buildings in Perm. The walls of the house consist of layers of brick and larch. The uniqueness of the building is emphasized by the stucco decorations made by self-taught artist Pyotr Agafyin. The female faces on the facade were created from photographs from the Gribushin family album.

Since 1992, the cultural traditions that existed under the previous owners have been revived in the building of the Perm Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In the grand living room, as envisioned by A.B. Turchievich, performances by the Perm circle of lovers of dramatic art are held, as well as musical evenings for the local intelligentsia.
