In the pre-revolutionary period, the Greek diaspora in Azov was one of the largest and wealthiest. Many members of this community were engaged in trade and left a significant mark on the city's history. Today, on Leningrad Street in Azov, there stands a building that belonged to a famous Greek merchant, known as the house of Greek merchant Kaligi.
The house has been well preserved and has hardly changed, except for the roof and one of the side walls, which is now covered with siding. This building is privately owned and has recently been included in the list of architectural monuments of cultural heritage of regional significance.
