Unlike other cities where the creative bohemia usually gathered in the center, in Penza it settled on Battle Mountain. Here stood a one-story brick building known as the Futuristic House, rented by Konstantin Tsge, the owner of the firm "Intermediary," which specialized in selling agricultural machinery. However, Konstantin Karlovich's true passion was art, and around him formed a circle of artists, poets, painters, and musicians. The Tsge Salon first gathered in this house in 1911, where the creative bohemia attempted to create a new form of art. One day, while reciting poetry to music in a recitative style, they almost achieved their goal, creating something reminiscent of modern rap. However, they did not pursue this direction further.

In the early 20th century, all of Penza's bohemia gathered here, and the visit of Vladimir Mayakovsky became a separate story. According to the memories of Tsge's daughters, Mayakovsky did not behave like a star. When someone accidentally took his chair, he simply sat on the floor, tucking his knees. That evening he joked a lot and read his new works, while his friends also had fun. Sofia Konstantinovna recalled: "Burlyuk with a lorgnette in hand quoted Severyanin, while Kamensky with a painted face joked loudly. Mayakovsky, in his famous yellow jacket, sat on the floor next to Madame Yakovleva and, stroking her knees, said: 'Girl! You are my girl!'

Behind this scene, two girls watched through a crack in the door: Sonya Tsge and Tanya Yakovleva. Interestingly, in the next room, the young Tanya Yakovleva was observing what was happening, who later, in her 20s, would become the object of Mayakovsky's passionate love. For her, he even considered leaving Russia forever and moving to Paris.
