Among the architectural monuments of Rostov-on-Don stands the former income house owned by the famous entrepreneur Mikhail Vulfovich Shirman. Built in 1911 by architect Arutyun Kristoforovich Zakiev, this building attracts attention because Vladimir Mayakovsky performed here in 1926. A memorial plaque on the facade of the building serves as a reminder of this event, which is now a cultural heritage site of regional significance and interests fans of the poet.

The five-story brick building is designed in the Art Nouveau style. Its main facade is adorned with plasterwork, wreaths, vases, and plant ornaments. The first and second floors are decorated with rustication, while the horizontal division of the facade is emphasized by ties under the windows and a massive cornice between the fourth and fifth floors. Vertical elements of the facade are represented by bay windows and balconies with attics. Shirman's income house has a rectangular shape with an inner courtyard and a corridor layout system. The main entrance is located at the corner of Voroshilovsky Avenue and Suvorov Street.

After the establishment of Soviet power, the building was confiscated from the owner and became the 'House of Print,' where the Rostov Association of Proletarian Writers and the club of working correspondents of the newspaper 'Molot' were located. In 1922, the first pioneer squad 'Spartak' was created here in Rostov. On November 28, 1926, Vladimir Mayakovsky performed at the 'House of Print.' Before World War II, the building was handed over to the NKVD, where interrogations with torture of the arrested took place. After the war, a hotel 'Yuzhnaya' opened here, and a puppet theater was located on the first floor.

Currently, the building is occupied by LLC 'Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Rostov-on-Don,' and two memorial plaques are installed on its wall.
