In the historical center of Rostov-on-Don, many ancient buildings have been preserved, among which the Leonidov Tenement House stands out, built in the early 20th century at 30 Bolshaya Sadovaya Street.

This house is known not only for its pre-revolutionary origin but also for being home to many prominent figures, including the famous Russian biologist Ivan Vladimirovich Michurin.

The four-story brick building, shaped like a letter G, is adorned with facades styled in baroque and classicism. The floors are separated by profiled intermediate beams and a cornice. The windows of the upper floors are framed with profiled architraves; on the second and fourth floors, they are complemented by sills, while on the third, by decorative stone locks. The windows on the second floor have a semi-circular shape. The facade is decorated with stucco elements, such as shells and decorative brackets. The main entrance is highlighted by pilasters. The layout of the second, third, and fourth floors is sectional, while the first floor houses auxiliary rooms.

After the arrival of Soviet power, the merchant Leonidov's house was nationalized. Various institutions occupied the lower floors, while the upper ones became residential spaces and apartments. The building has basements and is topped with a gable roof. Currently, it is included in the list of cultural heritage sites and is under state protection. Information plaques about its famous former residents are placed on the facade.
