The property began to take shape in the first third of the 19th century, when a merchant mansion was built on the red line of Pyatnitskaya Street, which was reconstructed by architect Geynts in 1868. Later, architect I.V. Mikhaylovsky added the right end section of the estate.

The four-story income house, designed by Kekushev, was skillfully placed on a complex plot of land. Although the building is perceived by viewers in parts, it appears very cohesive. The center of the building is emphasized by a wavy attic under a deep canopy. The gray facing tiles of the walls contrast with the plastered surfaces of the window frames and the walls of the first floor with fine rustication. One of the main decorations of the house is the staircase window in the center of the facade, framed by a border of several profiles that create 'perspective' recesses and are intercepted by horizontal ties.
