Income House of Ekaterina Lyakhmaer

Фото 1
One of the preserved buildings of pre-revolutionary Rostov-on-Don is the income house of Ekaterina Petrovna Lyakhmaer, built in the late 19th century. Although the architect's surname and the exact year of construction are unknown, it is known that in January 1899, Ekaterina Petrovna Lyakhmaer became its owner. She was a wealthy woman and almost simultaneously acquired another plot.

The house is located in the historical part of the city, and in pre-revolutionary times, it brought significant income to its owner. Later, Ms. Lyakhmaer faced issues with the city sanitary committee, and in 1910, the building was transferred through intermediaries to the attorney Abram Lazarievich Chernikov, who owned not only this house.

After the arrival of Soviet power, the building was confiscated from its legal owner. Today, this four-story mansion is a cultural heritage site of regional significance in the Rostov region.
