Income House of the Bostrikins in Rostov-on-Don

Фото 1
One of the pre-revolutionary buildings in Rostov-on-Don is the income house of the Bostrikins, built in 1914 according to the project of civil engineer Semyon Vasilyevich Polipin. The original and only owners of the building were Ivan and Anna Bostrikins.

The three-story building is located along the red line of Pushkinskaya Street. The symmetrical facade is designed in the Art Nouveau style with elements of classicism and irrationalism. The first floor features rustication. The second and third floors have balconies with ornate railings. The facade is topped with an attic of complex curved shape. Above the cornice are the pedestals of the parapet, and the facade is decorated with decorative plaster. The modern color scheme of the facade was chosen during the restoration in 1997, taking into account the architectural style of the building.

In 1920, the income house was confiscated by the Soviet authorities and communal apartments were placed in it. Currently, the building is a cultural heritage site of regional significance. In the 1990s, all residents were evicted, after which major repairs and restoration were carried out. Since 1997, the house has belonged to Sberbank and is in good condition. Since March 2019, the building has also been available for rent.
