The former Astashev's income house, located at Zverinskaya Street, 17b, was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries according to the design of academic architect Vladimir Kurzanov. This architect, known for his numerous income houses in the city, worked on their creation until his death in 1913. The architectural appearance of the building combines three styles: classicism, neo-baroque, and neo-Russian style. The house is notable for its turret and decorative elements in the form of dragons and flag holders, which is why it is sometimes referred to as the house with dragons. The last restoration of the facade took place in 1957, and now the building needs updating.
