The income house, owned by the honorary hereditary noble Alexander Mikhailovich Zhelyabuzhsky, was built in 1906 according to the design of architect Nikolai Grigoryevich Faleev. The choice of architect was not accidental: both were originally from Kaluga. Interestingly, Alexander Mikhailovich's son, Alexander Alexandrovich Zhelyabuzhsky, who also lived in house No. 9 on Krivoarbatsky Lane, graduated from the St. Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineers in 1910, obtaining the title of civil engineer. From 1910 to 1913, he worked as a freelance technician at the Construction Society of the Moscow City Administration and often acted as an assistant to architect N.G. Faleev.

The building on Krivoarbatsky Lane is typical of the Arbat lanes of the Art Nouveau era. Its facade, faced with various types of ceramic tiles, is distinguished by its multicolored and respectable appearance. The well-executed stucco details give the facade solidity, while the ornate window frames and plastic bay windows enliven its calm rhythm.

Several years ago, where the right three-part window on the first floor is now, there was an arch leading to the inner courtyard. However, this courtyard is now built up, and along with the rear part of the income house, it has become part of Polyclinic No. 1 of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, and the arch has been bricked up.

Previously, there was the estate of the Velyaminovs with a large wooden house on this site. In 1807, S.L. Pushkin, the father of A.S. Pushkin, lived here with his family. There is a record of this in the metric books of the St. Nicholas Church in Plotnikov.
