The income house on Starokonyushenny Lane, 33, was built in 1901 according to the design of architect Yevgeny Ivanovich Opukhovsky.

After the revolution, young Soviet writers and poets, members of the literary association "Kuznitsa," established in 1920, settled in apartment No. 11 of this house. Among them were A.S. Novikov-Priboy, F.V. Gladkov, A.S. Neverov, N.N. Lyashko, and other future classics of Soviet literature. This apartment functioned as a sort of commune, where writers not only lived and worked but also held weekly meetings known as "Thursdays." Representatives from other literary groups also attended these gatherings. The editorial office of the magazine "Kuznitsa," published from 1920 to 1922, was located in the same premises.

In the post-war years, the building was converted into housing for senior officers of the Navy. Currently, the house still contains residential apartments.
