The single-story building, an interesting example of wooden architecture from the late 19th century, was built in 1880 and has been well preserved to this day. The house of merchant Vinogradov is included in the itinerary of many tours in Moscow as a valuable specimen of wooden construction in the Krutitsy area.

Not only the volumetric-spatial structure of the building has been preserved, but also its facades, including the elegant carved cornice with a toothed edging, the carved door, and the gable in the shape of a kokoshnik. The house of merchant Vinogradov is a unique example of wooden architecture characteristic of Krutitsy. Unfortunately, very few wooden houses remain not only in this area but throughout Moscow.

The building plays an important role in the composition of the structures on the even side of 2nd Krutitsky Lane and Krutitsky Val. The main facade of the house has a three-part structure, which is also reflected in the side facades. The windows of the basement floor are square with decorative lintels, while the windows of the first floor are rectangular with simple trim. The roof features dormer windows with triangular gables and pilasters. The only thing lost over nearly 150 years of the building's existence is the porch on the side of Novospassky Passage. Until 1917, the house on 2nd Krutitsky Lane belonged to the Vinogradov merchants, owners of an iron foundry in Moscow.
