Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, tired of the noise of Yalta, purchased a small house near the Gurzuf Park to focus on his work. This house, as he himself said, was quite modest but had large porches, four rooms, and a tiled roof. There was only one mulberry tree on the property, but along with the house came a small bay where one could swim or leave a boat.

The house, located at the foot of Dzhenevez-Kaya with its own beach, became the place where Chekhov completed his famous play "Three Sisters." In honor of this event, he planted three palm trees, of which only two have survived to this day; one perished from the frost. Currently, there is also a cypress tree planted on the day of the writer's death.

Since 1987, a branch of the Yalta Chekhov Museum has been operating on the dacha's territory. Today, the Gurzuf dacha is part of the Crimean Literary and Artistic Memorial Museum-Reserve.

The permanent exhibition of the museum in Gurzuf includes three rooms:

The first room is dedicated to the memorial exhibition related to the writer and O. L. Knipper.

The second room tells the story of the creation of the play "Three Sisters." Here, one can see photographs of the prototypes of the characters, copies of handwritten pages, a copy of the first publication, and various editions from the early 20th century. There are also photographs of the first productions of the play at the Moscow Art Theatre, photos of actors, and promotional programs. The room contains materials from the classic production by Nemirovich-Danchenko, which ran in the theatre for 50 years.

The third room is called "Chekhov's Circle." Here, materials, photographs, drawings, documents, and articles about Chekhov's family and friends are displayed. Portraits of the writer by renowned artists such as Levitan, Braz, and Serov are also presented.

Visitors can also view Chekhov's study, the summer veranda, and a spot with a panoramic view of the bay.
