The ensemble of two churches, the cold Life-Giving Spring and the warm Nicholas, is located on a high hill by the Nerl River, not far from the village of Yakimanskoye. The hill stands alone and is connected to the village only by a small earthen causeway that can be walked on. There is no road to the churches. The churches are a few meters apart from each other and are in different states. The Church of the Life-Giving Spring, although roofless, has preserved its walls and ceilings, while the Nicholas Church is completely destroyed.

Both churches are modest in size. The architecture of the Church of the Life-Giving Spring is typical for cozy Suzdal churches, crafted with great skill and attention to detail. The ensemble is very picturesque and harmoniously fits into the surrounding natural landscape.
