Bolshoye Pole is a village located in the Voskresensky district. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the village church of Zosima and Savvatiy was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. The church dates back to 1896. However, order 5-OD lost its validity on October 20, 2014, in accordance with order No. 159, as reported by the State Heritage Protection Office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

According to information provided by the project of Dina Korotaeva, the status of the village of Bolshoye Pole was obtained with the appearance of the church, the construction of which is attributed to Nikolai Chesnokov. The church made the village the center of the district, remote from the rest of the volost by forests and swamps, and became not only a religious but also a cultural center. Between 1895 and 1900, a primary school was opened here, subordinate to the Ministry of National Education. In 1906, in Zavetluzhye of the Makaryevsky district, it was the least populated village with 116 residents. After the revolution, the church in Bolshoye Pole became the first closed church in the Voskresensky district.
