The wooden church at the Churilkovo cemetery in Yaroslavl was laid in 1999. The temple, dedicated to the icons of the Mother of God 'The Seeking of the Lost' and 'Joy of All Who Sorrow', was completed in 2005-2006 and consecrated in 2008.
The initiator of the construction was teacher M.K. Peunova. The wooden frame for the church of the Holy Virgin was delivered from Chukhloma, and the building itself was erected by craftsmen from Alexandrov. The church has a cross-shaped form with a bell tower in the center and small domes over the side parts. In 2005, a parish was officially established at the church.
Currently, the church is operational, and services are held here. Since it is located in a cemetery, funerals also take place here.
