The village of Travyansky was founded in the first half of the 17th century. It got its name from a small lake and surrounding swamps, thickly overgrown with reeds and sedge.

The first church in the village was built in 1751, a year after the parish was established. The church was wooden but stood on a stone foundation. Construction was funded by donations from parishioners, but due to a lack of materials, an old wooden chapel had to be dismantled. The church was consecrated in 1753 and served for 96 years. When a parish was established in the neighboring village of Volkovo, it was decided to sell the Travyansky church. In 1847, the building, along with the iconostasis and icons, was handed over to the Volkovo residents. A commemorative cast-iron plaque was installed at the site of the old church. The sale of the church was part of a plan to build a new stone church. As early as 1832, the construction of a new brick church began. Five years later, the right side altar was completed and consecrated in honor of the Epiphany of the Lord.

By 1845, the construction of the main church was completed, consecrated in honor of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. By 1848, the construction was fully finished. The bell tower was added without a corridor, and the left side altar was consecrated in honor of the righteous Procopius of Ustyug, the Miracle Worker. With the funds from parishioners, a stone fence with iron grilles was built around the church, along with two pyramidal towers for storing church utensils. The villagers not only donated money but also actively participated in the construction of the Presentation church, erecting the bell tower and part of the walls.

Since 1889, a church school was opened at the parish, located in the village of Bolshaya Gryaznukha. In 1936, the Presentation church was closed by the authorities. The crosses and bells were removed from the church. Father Viktor Riebrin, who replaced the murdered Alexander Popov, was arrested and shot on November 4, 1937.

Since then, the church building has not been used. In the summer, it often housed livestock. Recently, the villagers, led by the parish elder Igor Svidersky, began the restoration of the Presentation church. So far, little has been done, but this work is very important for the local residents. The walls of the church have been sealed against animals. Services are temporarily held in the local hospital building, and in the summer, they are moved to the church. On commemorative days, the liturgies are accompanied by processions.
