In December 2013, a decision was made to restore the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and rename it in honor of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the temple. The church is now fully restored, and on November 4, 2015, Bishop Antoniy of Akhtubinsk and Yenotayevsk consecrated it.

On the Day of National Unity and the Orthodox holiday of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, a ceremony was held in the village of Solodniki, Chernozyorsky District of the Astrakhan Region, to consecrate the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which had been completely restored after nearly a century of neglect. In this ancient village, located 340 kilometers from Astrakhan, the church was built in 1899. During the 1917 revolution, the church doors were closed for many years. After the Great Patriotic War and until 1995, the building was used as a grain storage facility. When the local collective farm disbanded, the village parish community held services in the dilapidated building.

In 2013, a board of trustees led by the governor of the Astrakhan region, Alexander Zhiltsev, took on the restoration, whose ancestors on his mother's side lived on Chernozyorsky land and always supported local churches. Metropolitan Antoniy of Akhtubinsk and Yenotayevsk called the revival of the church in Solodniki a historic event, noting that out of 240 churches in the Astrakhan diocese, only 20 survived the years of anti-religious persecution.

Gratitude was expressed to all benefactors, as well as to students of the Astrakhan Art School named after P. A. Vlasov, who, under the guidance of Moscow students, prepared the walls for fresco painting.

Special thanks for the initiative and personal contribution were addressed to the chairman of the board of directors of the enterprise 'Nizhnevolzhskstroyservice', Yuri Smolyakov. He conducted a technical examination of the building and prepared the project and estimate documentation. For his merits in the restoration of the church, Yuri Smolyakov was awarded a medal of the Order 'For Merits to the Astrakhan Region.'
