The Church of the Entry into the Temple of the Mother of God, located in the Khalezskaya volost of the Southern third of the Ustyuzhsky district, was mentioned in the revenue book of monasteries and churches of the Veliky Ustyug diocese for the year 1755. According to the decree of the diocesan authorities dated May 6, 1872, permission was granted to build a new stone two-altar church with a bell tower to replace the old, small and dilapidated churches. The Khalezskaya Entry Church, built in 1889, was made of stone. The main altar was consecrated in honor of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Mother of God, and there were also altars in honor of the righteous Procopius and John of Ustyug, Saint Nicholas of Myra, the icon of the Mother of God "The Merciful," the holy martyr Blasius, and Saint Modest. In 1788, the parish had 869 people, and by 1868, their number had increased to 3,813.
