The village of Alexeisheevo, also known as Leontyevo, is located 27 versts from Vladimir. In the 17th century, it belonged to the boyar Nikita Ivanovich Akinfov, and later came under the management of the Moscow Golitsyn Hospital. In 1682, N.I. Akinfov built a stone church in Alexeisheevo in honor of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with a warm chapel dedicated to Saint Catherine the Great Martyr. The church had a priest, a deacon, a sexton, and a prosphora baker. At that time, the parish included one landowner's estate, 58 peasant households, and 5 landless households. The landowner allocated 12 quarters of land in the fields and hay meadows for the clergy.

The church has survived to this day, although it has undergone some changes: the cold part was expanded, and the chapel, which was previously located in the bell tower, was moved to the southern side. Next to the church stands a stone bell tower with a tented roof, built at the same time.

The church has three altars: the main one in honor of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and two warm chapels, in memory of the Beheading of John the Baptist and in honor of Saint Catherine the Great Martyr. In the altar of the Catherine chapel, on the wall near the altar, two inscriptions are carved on white stone: "for the health of Tsar Fyodor Alexeyevich and his wife Agafya Semyonovna" and "for the health of the nobleman and voivode of the city of Pereslavl and the governor of the city of Yuryev-Polsky N.I. Akinfov and his relatives, as well as for the repose of his relatives."

Church documents have been preserved in full: copies of the metric books since 1800 and confession lists since 1829. The land associated with the church includes 1 desyatina of homestead land, 17 desyatinas of arable land, and 15 desyatinas of hay meadows. There is no plan or land survey book for the land. According to the clergy's staff, there is a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. The clergy receives income from interest on a capital of 200 rubles, services and rituals, bread collection, and land, totaling about 850 rubles per year. The clergy's houses are located on church land.

The parish includes the village of Alexeisheevo and the villages of Penkino, Neverovo, Borodino, and Smykuja, where the clerical records list 858 men and 955 women. A church-parish school has been operating at the church since 1884.
