The Church of the Presentation is a typical parish church of its time, featuring a blend of provincial baroque, elements of classicism, and 17th-century architecture. The volumetric composition of the building appears somewhat archaic: a two-light square base in three axes is topped with a four-pitched roof adorned with five scaly domes on blind cylindrical drums. To the east, it has a lowered polygonal apse, and to the west, a small refectory equal in width to the square base. Later, a two-story western narthex with a dome on a four-pitched roof was added, which is slightly narrower than the other parts.

The facade decor of the original volumes resembles the Vasilyevskaya Church: a low plinth, wide corner pilasters, cornices topped with elongated two-tiered consoles, and window frames with triangular pediments on half-columns with entablatures. A new element reflecting the influence of classicism is the rectangular horizontal niches under the lower windows. The forms of the western narthex are characteristic of late classicism and include corner pilasters, a simplified cornice, and an inter-floor belt with two shelves. The rectangular windows on both floors lack frames. The central axis of the western facade is highlighted by a trellis, with the middle opening framed more narrowly. Inside, the square base is covered with a vaulted ceiling, the altar has a box-like structure with niches from the east, while the other rooms have flat ceilings.

The preserved oil painting in the academic style was created in the 19th century. The vault of the eastern niche depicts the composition "Fatherland," while the side niches feature the evangelists, and the western niche shows "The Protection of the Mother of God." On the walls, there are two compositions from the gospel cycle: on the southern wall, "Annunciation" and "Presentation," on the northern wall, "Nativity" and "Baptism," and on the western wall, "Salvation on the Waters" and "Resurrection."

The two-tiered four-row iconostasis, made in the 19th century in an eclectic style, is turquoise with bronzed details. The single-tier iconostasis of the southern chapel in the refectory was also created in the 19th century in the Russian style.

In 2008, the Cathedral of the Presentation in Galich celebrated its 200th anniversary. Under the guidance of the parish priest Father Alexander, restoration work on the altar frescoes and iconostasis began in preparation for the anniversary. The restoration of the altar paintings was carried out by Moscow icon painter Vladislav Stepanovich Sokolov. The restoration of the icons of the iconostasis was handled by specialists from the Kostroma branch of the I.A. Grabar All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Restoration. Restorer Sergey Mikhailovich Knyazev updated the iconostasis, including repainting and complete replacement of the carved overlays with gilding. The benefactor of the restoration work was Rosselkhozbank under the leadership of Yuri Vladimirovich Trushin.
