The village of Alexino is one of the oldest settlements in the Kolchuginsky district. It is first mentioned in documents from the early 14th century as the property of the Grand Dukes of Moscow. Grand Duke Ivan Danilovich Kalita bequeathed "the village of Alexino to his son Ivan" in his will of 1328. Even in this document, Alexino is referred to as a village, indicating the presence of a church. The patriarchal records from 1628 mention "the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Alexino." In the mid-18th century, in addition to the Nicholas altar, the church had side altars in honor of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The wooden church was dismantled in 1873 due to its dilapidated condition. The modern Church of the Presentation of the Mother of God was built in 1872, and the main altar was consecrated in the same year. In 1873, the altar in the name of St. Nicholas of Myra was consecrated, and in 1875, in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. During the Soviet era, the church was closed and desecrated.
