The brick winter church was built in 1732 by Archbishop Pitirim of Nizhny Novgorod. This low building with side extensions and a five-sided altar features an interesting combination of baroque elements and traditional architecture. The church was closed no later than the 1930s, and its domes were destroyed. It was only reopened in 1991, and services were resumed. Currently, it is undergoing restoration.
