In the 18th century, when the stone Pokrovsky Cathedral was being built in the city of Melenki, there was a wooden church in the center of the city, which was later moved to the city cemetery and consecrated in honor of All Saints. This church functioned for over a hundred years until it was closed in 1938 after the arrest of the last priest. The faithful, unhappy with this decision, wrote complaints to various Soviet authorities, but no new priests were appointed to the parish. They noted that it created the impression that the church was standing idle, as if there were no believers, and it could be demolished.

A few years later, on July 31, 1940, the building of the cemetery church was sold to the Promkombinat for the organization of a carpentry workshop. The executive committee deemed this decision appropriate, believing that the building was suitable for such purposes. As a result, the city cemetery was left without a church.

The construction of a new church began in June 2015 at the former site with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Nil. The construction was led by Archpriest Nikolai Furiv. On November 9, 2019, Bishop Nil of Murom and Vyazniki performed the Great Consecration of the Church in honor of All Saints in Melenki.
