The Ascension of the Lord Church in our area has almost legendary fame. Its construction began in 1836 in the village of Krasnoe, previously known as the Krasnovskaya stanitsa of the Ural Cossack Army. This was the first church in the district and the first stone building, as well as the only religious structure that has survived from the tsarist times to the present day. Such magnificent churches were once called 'a prayer in stone.'
