The village of Krasnoe is located on the Trubezh River. In the 17th century, there was a wooden church dedicated to St. Basil the Great. After its reconstruction, the main altar was renamed in honor of the Ascension of the Lord, and a chapel was consecrated in honor of St. Basil the Great. However, in 1736, the church burned down. In its place, a new wooden church with one altar in honor of the Ascension of the Lord was built in 1739.

In 1820, a stone church with a bell tower was built on the site of the wooden church, which still exists today. This church had two altars, as did the first wooden church: in the cold chapel in honor of the Ascension of the Lord and in the warm chapel in the name of St. Basil the Great. The church had a priest and a psalmist on staff.

According to the approved "Schedule of Parishes and Clergy of the Vladimir Diocese" in 1873, the church of Krasnoe village was attached to the Archangel Church of the village of Bibirevo. For the maintenance of the clergy and the sexton, 140 rubles were allocated from arable and haymaking land, 40 rubles from grain collection, 8 rubles from interest on the clergy's capital, and 270 rubles from services and sacramental corrections, totaling about 460 rubles per year. The clergy members had their own houses on church land. The church's land included 32 desyatinas of 1320 sazhen of arable land and 3 desyatinas of haymaking and homestead land, delineated in 1836, as well as 1 desyatina of 1240 sazhen of haymaking land added in 1839.

The parish included the village of Krasnoe and the village of Chashnitsy, where according to clerical records at the end of the 19th century, there were 407 men and 449 women, all Orthodox. In Krasnoe village, a zemstvo public school operated since 1875, where 40 students were enrolled in 1893.

At the end of 1937, the priest of the church, Vasily Ivanovich Vozdvizhensky, was arrested and shot a month later.
