Ascension of the Lord Church in Dawn

Фото 1
In 1829, the residents of the stanitsa appealed to the diocesan authorities for permission to build a church, which they received in 1830. In 1833, the church was constructed and consecrated, which, according to some sources, was wooden, while others claim it was stone, with one altar. Due to the relocation of the stanitsa, the church was dismantled, and the materials were used to build a new structure at the new location. In 1878, the church was rebuilt by the efforts of the parishioners and consecrated in the same year. It was a wooden building with a bell tower on a stone foundation, designed for winter use. In 1898, a new stone fence was erected around the church. The altar in the church was singular, dedicated to the Ascension of the Lord. By 1900, there were no attached or household churches at the church.

Since 1930, the church has not been operational, and it was closed in 1936.
