On November 2, 2010, the head of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese conducted the great consecration of the Church of the Ascension of Christ in the village of Orekhovets in the Diveevo district and served the first divine liturgy in this newly consecrated temple. The church was built in 1801 through the efforts of Shcherbatov. The building is made of stone, with a sturdy bell tower. The church has three altars: the main one in honor of the Ascension of the Lord, the right altar in the name of Saint Martyr Paraskeva, and the left altar in honor of the Nativity of John the Baptist.
