The warm church, built of white stone in 1646, was reconstructed in 1706 and in subsequent years. It was located southwest of the cathedral and adjoined its porch. It was a single-domed three-apsidal structure with a western narthex, which after reconstruction received a simple four-pitched roof. In 1799, a second Assumption altar was established in the church, and from 1858, the altar of Varlaam and Ioasaf. The building was demolished in the 1930s.
