On November 12, 2016, the church dedicated to the Ascension of the Lord was consecrated in the village of Zarubino, Gorodetsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region. The ceremony of the Great Consecration of the church was led by Bishop Augustine of Gorodets and Vetluga. The single-altar wooden church with one dome, designed for 150 people, was built according to a unique project specifically developed for this village. The church was laid on August 27, 2015. In the newly consecrated church, the head of the Gorodets Diocese conducted the Divine Liturgy. He was assisted by the secretary of the diocese, Priest Ilya Tyurin, the dean of the Gorodets district, Hieromonk Daniil Gulko, the rector of the newly consecrated church, Hieromonk Alexander Ionov, and the rector of the church in honor of Archangel Michael in the settlement of Vetluzhsky, Igumen Varvara Barinov. Among the worshippers were benefactors of the church from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, and Saransk. After the solemn service, Father Alexander greeted Bishop Augustine and presented him with an icon of the Protection of the Mother of God as a prayerful memory of the church's consecration. In response, the ruling hierarch gifted the church an icon of the Theodorovskaya Mother of God.
