The Exaltation Church in Syrostan is one of the oldest in the Miass district, alongside the Holy Trinity Church in Miass.

Construction of the church in the village of Syrostan began on May 30, 1882. To adorn the church, seven silver bells were cast, each weighing 40 poods, funded by local residents at the factory of merchant Shishkin in Shadrinsk. The total cost of construction was about 14,000 rubles in silver. The church was consecrated in 1895, and the first priest was Alexander Petrov. Local residents referred to the church as the Baptismal Church, as children were baptized here in cold spring water. It was believed that children baptized here would be healthy and strong. Services continued until 1938, when the priest Father Pavel was shot. From 1938 until the early 1990s, the building was used as a warehouse and stable, leading to its near-total destruction: the roof, dome, windows, and fence fell into disrepair, and the unique frescoes were destroyed, leaving only the walls and vault intact.

In 1991, the building was returned to the faithful. The restoration of the church was undertaken by Cossack Ataman Nikolai Samodumov from Miass, a philanthropist who also initiated the construction of the Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in Zarechye and the church in the Atlyan colony. Thanks to his efforts, the church was restored according to archival drawings and plans in 6 years. The walls were painted by Miass artist A. Avseev. The first service in the restored church took place in 1997.

In November 2013, the domes of the church were replaced: the main eight-ton dome and the small one on the bell tower, which increased the height of the bell tower by several meters.

The majestic building of the church, located on a high hill, is visible from afar. Against the backdrop of low gray houses of the village, the snow-white church stands out. The church was built according to the design of architect Konstantin Ton, who also created the project for the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. According to the same design, the Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian was built in Naberezhnye Chelny, as well as the Holy Nicholas Church in Verkhneuralsk.

The church is spacious and accommodates up to 400 people. It is executed in the Byzantine style and consists of a square base with an onion dome, a small refectory, and a tent-like bell tower. The interior decoration is ascetic but filled with the spirit of antiquity thanks to icons from the past and the century before last. The church houses a locally revered icon, a copy of the Theodorovskaya Mother of God icon, and later icons depicting the Romanov family appeared.

On the church grounds, there is a monument to Nicholas II, who visited Syrostan. One hundred meters from the church on the hill stands a shrine with an icon of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. Local historians believe that this icon was gifted by the sovereign in gratitude for a dinner held in his honor, although there is no documentary evidence for this.
