The complex of six icons, created in the last quarter of the 18th century, originates from the wooden Church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross in the city of Mologa, Yaroslavl province. The church was built in 1778 through the efforts of the parishioners. The church did not have a permanent clergy, and services were held rarely, mainly in the summer, at the request of the parishioners. The church was affiliated with the Resurrection Cathedral, which was built in 1767 in the same city. The icons were transferred to the Mologa Local History Museum in 1936.
