The village of Annenkovo is located in the Shatkovsky district. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the rural Kazan church was recognized as a historical and cultural heritage site. The church dates back to 1835. However, according to the Administration of State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, this order was revoked on October 20, 2014, due to the issuance of order No. 159. According to the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" for 1904, the church had altars: cold, of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and icons of the Kazan Mother of God, and in the refectory, warm, of Saint Alexander Nevsky and Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.
