The church in the village of Koprino, built in 1787, was the main attraction of this place. It stood out for its size in the district. The five-domed temple with a tall bell tower and "Petersburg" spire had seven bells. The largest, "Big Blagovest," weighing 332 poods and 32 pounds, was cast in Koprino by a master from Yaroslavl. Its sound carried 8-10 kilometers in calm weather. The church had three altars, the main one dedicated to the Honorable Life-Giving Cross of the Lord.

The fate of the church turned tragic. In the 1930s, it began to be destroyed. Priest F.A. Vinogradov was repressed and exiled. In the autumn of 1935, the bells were removed. To break the "Big Blagovest," stones were placed under it, but it only cracked. The bells were smashed and taken to Rybinsk. The bell tower was blown up, and the church building was handed over to a paper factory, but the bricks turned out to be too strong for use. Residents of neighboring villages dismantled the fences and foundation. Later, the Rybinsk Reservoir began to erode the shores near the village and the church. Part of the walls was used for road construction, and only their remnants remind of the past.

The Cross Exaltation Church in Koprino was made of stone, with a fence and bell tower, parish church, with three altars: the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and St. Sergius of Radonezh. Built in 1787 with funds from parishioners. There were three chapels: one stone by the church and two wooden in the village of Pogorelka and at the site of the previous church. The land area was 36 desyatins and 584 square sazhen. In the village, there were three church houses: a stone one, a wooden one for the priest, and a wooden one for the caretakers. The church funds amounted to 4482 rubles and 92 kopecks. The distance to the villages of the parish was 1-10 versts.

The parish included 50 settlements, 1463 households, 4402 men, and 4723 women. There were two ministerial two-class schools, two zemstvo one-class schools, church-parish guardianship, a hospital, and two libraries. According to the staff, there were supposed to be 4 priests, a deacon, and 4 psalmists. The parish capital amounted to 4225 rubles.

In 1937, there were attempts to destroy the church. A bell was dropped, but it only cracked and was sent for remelting. The church was attempted to be blown up twice, the last time in the 1970s, but the walls with remnants of frescoes stood on the shore of the Rybinsk Reservoir until recently. On December 25, 2015, the walls were demolished by an excavator, and now it is just a pile of bricks. The ruins of the church are attached to the village of Petrakovo.
