The Church in honor of the Resurrection of Christ was built in the village of Voskresenka, previously known as Voskresenskoe in the Samara district, in 1811 with funds from Count V.G. Orlov-Davydov. The church's design was created in 1804 by serf architect Christoph Schmidt. The building was covered with iron, and the domes and bell tower were topped with lanterns also covered in iron. The carved iconostasis was made according to Schmidt's drawings. The church could accommodate up to 800 people and had three altars: the main one in honor of the Resurrection of Christ, the right one in honor of the Epiphany, and the left one in honor of the miraculous Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. In 1929, the church was closed. Initially, the building remained abandoned, then it was used as a production facility, and at one time, a mill was located here. The interior was destroyed, the ceilings and partitions were severely damaged, and the bell tower was demolished.

In February 1992, the church building was returned to the believers. In the same year, on September 26, a cross was installed on the church's dome. The villagers brought to the church an altar Gospel, a small icon of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and a small bell, all that could be preserved. Over two centuries, the church sank almost a meter into the ground, and it had to be excavated. During the earthworks, the remains of priests and notable residents of Voskresenka, buried in the churchyard, were discovered. These remains were reburied on the church grounds in a mass grave, over which a cross made of black marble and a plaque with a requiem prayer were installed: 'With the spirits of the righteous departed, grant rest, O Savior, to the souls of Thy servants.' The restoration work was supported by teams from OAO 'Novokuybyshevsky Oil Refinery', LLC 'Obsharovskaya Poultry Farm', the administration of the Volzhsky district, the leadership of MSPP 'Young Guard', and the rural settlement of Voskresenka.
