In the village of Valuyevo, the Resurrection Church, made of stone with a wooden bell tower, was built in 1808 thanks to the efforts of Elizabeth Fyodorovna Gotovtseva and the support of the parishioners. The stone bell tower appeared no earlier than the mid-1860s. The fence around the church is stone with an iron grille, and the cemetery is located within the churchyard. The church has three altars: in honor of the Resurrection of Christ, the holy martyrs Flora and Lavra, and Saint Great Martyr Blasius. The local shrine is the icon of the Resurrection of Christ.

The village is located 190 versts from Kostroma and 20 versts from Chukhloma. The nearest churches are: the Mother of God Church in the village of Ozarinkovo, 4 versts away, the Nikolayevskaya Church in the village of Zhukovo in the Soligalich district, 7 versts away, and the Sofia Church in the village of Sofia-Valuyevo, 8 versts away.

In the 17th century, the village was part of the Chukhloma siege of the Galich district. In 1639, a church "of the Resurrection of Christ of the Chukhloma siege of the Voluyevo volost" is mentioned. In January 1706, church elder Fyodor Ivanov and the parishioners wrote a petition stating that in February 1705, the church of Saint Martyr Blasius with the chapel of the holy martyrs Flora and Lavra burned down, and in 1706 they promised to build a new warm church on the same site. At the beginning of 1707, the newly built church of Saint Martyr Blasius with the chapel was consecrated.

In June 1719, priest Nikon Parfentyev wrote to the patriarchal treasury that the church of the Resurrection of Christ and the chapel of Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Voluyevo volost of the Galich district were wooden and dilapidated, making it impossible to serve there. The parishioners promised to build new churches. At the beginning of 1720, the newly built church of the Resurrection of Christ with the chapel was consecrated.
